Preview of my next buy

yeah... ISIS made, quality at a good price and only sold at enjukuracing!

ISIS intake manifold

well, it was time i did this entry... courtesy of enjukuracing.com i got myself a isis intake manifold, greddy knockoff yeah... but the reason i went with this one was to mock up my engine and i ended up liking it... the quality is good, welds are good and the polished finish is baller... the inside isn't porous and you can see the quality compared to most of the ebay brands...

ISIS Intake Manifold - Nissan SR20DET S13

The day it arrived from enjuku... comes with EVERYTHING you need for the install...

the only bad thing MINE had, but none of the rest have had this, was this little thing here, a piece of casting that i wasn't really comfortable with, it was at the end of the hole that goes to the fitting of the brake booster vacuum hose... i just knocked it off with a few hammer hits and a crowbar... it didn't come of easy but i didn't want to take any risk... besides that the inside was really clean in my opinion.

Photobucket

the install was easy... there's a bunch of write ups installing the greddy manifold, it's exactly the same. I did not encounter any of the symptoms and problems that people have with they're ebay manifolds... so that is a plus for isis... i found it easier to remove first the fuel rail, and after that take of the brackets that hold up the intake manifold from under it, i ended up removing the top runners first and then the lower plenum, it made it easier for me...

the only modification i needed to do was:

1-modify fuel rail: simply done with a dremel

a) cut off some extra brackets that won't let the fuel rail fit

b) bore on of the bolt holes bigger so a bolt will line up correctly

2-modify throttle cable and bracket (i used the stock SR bracket and modified my SOHC cable to work... it feels nice and is holding up strong)

Photobucket

3- the throttle body won't sit flush with the stock bolts you have two options:

a) use washers like i did

b) use shorter bolts

i broke the gaskets for the AICV and THROTTLE, they were all dried up and broken to start with... so i ordered these from FRSPORT.com and i got a free tshirt with my order =) great service and EXTREMELY fast shipping... plus part numbers for anybody that needs them...

A mock up to see how it's gonna look at the end...

note: i haven't been able to try it because of the cold pipe i need to make, which i ordered yesterday so i hope to try this out... i have stock everything so any improvement will be because of this and not any other parts i have installed...

pepboys ricer!

yup, some APC ricer pedals... a old friend gave them to me, i tried them on and like how it felt when doing heel-toe... so i just let them on... they got damaged... like anything else i painted them...

Photobucket

valve cover timeline...

well, if you haven't noticed already... i have OCD on keeping stuff the same for too long, my valve cover is a great example of this...

It started off like this...

stock red color and notice the rusted oil separator and heatshield...

Photobucket

Ended up painting the oil separator and heatshield some red color that was left over from a valve cover i painted for a friend... YUCK too much red, and the valve cover's paint was coming off...

Photobucket

wanted something new and ended buying some cheap ass paint from a asshole paint dealer here... the paint didn't even stick good! after i installed it and cleaned it up a little you can see where the primer is almost visible in front... ugghhh i hated it, it was supposed to end up a magenta candy color... nothing like this... notice the brake, coolant and PS caps painted also, i still have them

PhotobucketPhotobucket

and to unveil my new color, which is my favorite and i think if i ever powder coat it... it's getting done in this color... the caps for the brake master and PS have been exchange with some i had left over from the front clip i bought a few years ago...

little details PT.3

another tiny detail, my shift boot & shifter...

i made the boot myself, not my best work but still ended up good and fits great. The shifter has been on the car since i bought it, it WAS the leather nismo GT or whatever, the leather and stiches started tearing apart and i just took it off... love the feel of this shifter and i will never change it period...

bitch all you want about it being animals and hearts and stars... i could care less what you think...

gettin sick again PT.2

well i fixed the fuel pump problem

i started checking EVERYTHING all over again... i changed relays, checked ALL the fuses in the car just in case...

decided to just take apart all the tape and wrap i had on the wiring i had done and check everything... but during that guess what...

i impaled myself with a knife/razor blade they use in hospitals...

Photobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Photobucket

plus a bit more i found all over the wiring, car, all the floor in my room, my bathroom and even a fan i have in my room all cover with drips of blood... it looked like i had cut of a hole part of my finger or some shit!! it looks like just drips but they are actually tiny puddles that took me some while to clean up after that

all of that come from this tiny shit

Photobucket

i guess the razor blade hit something in there since it hit pretty deep... only explanation i have for all the blood...

The good news
while i was sitting inside the car after i stopped the blood and all that i found out it was just a wire on the ingition key wiring that came lose, the previous owner SUCKED AT WIRING or hired someone who SUCKS at wiring, when they installed the alarm all of the damm wiring was a hack job, i've fixed most of it in the years i have owned it but still i run into shit like this from time to time...

The bad news
my hand hurt all friggin day long and NOW i have to re-wrap ALL the wiring which i had already finished... great day, just great...

gutted hood...

well as all 240sx owner know... out hoods are fucking heavyyyyy i pic up any hood with both hands with problem at all... i can't afford to pay $700+ for a carbon hood shipped to PR so the next big thing before i do a custom FRP hood was loose weight on mine...

so starts the GUTTING! let's do some math...

Photobucket

MINUS

Photobucket

EQUALS

Photobucket

ADD some paint and...

Photobucket

to tell you the truth, the hood IS a bit lighter but nothing noticeable... i just like how it looks now... i might put that "fire",heat and noise suppresor that it has back but not sure yet...

Manual Seatbelts...

This is something ive been wanting for a long time...

courtesy of some canadian guy on southern ontario 240sx forum, yup canadian seatbelts are manual also...

PhotobucketPhotobucket

I didn't know TAKATA made out stock belts

Photobucket

Pics after they were installed

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Stainless steel clutch line...

i don't really have pictures of this installed you will have to search for it in my full engine pictures, but here is the stainless steel line that i used to replace the stock hardline...

replaces the clutch master cylinder hardline and also goes directly to the slave cylinder, i removed the clutch dampner box in the process...

Photobucket

REVIEW: well, it's been a long time since i did this but i recommend it to everyone, i even sell them cause i know people will like them, first of all if you go from auto to manual it's easier to buy this than get a stock hardline, as for improvement the clutch pedal felt better, i can't describe it but after i installed this and removed the dampner you can 'feel' the clutch more...

getting sick again...

well, another day that i couldn't sleep, i guess im getting insomnia again... another illness to add to my growing list of health problems... and im only 20...

since i couldn't sleep i decided to do a little on the car... i thought i had finished my wiring, i relocated the fuse box to the inside of the car, everything was working perfectly, now all of a sudden no power to the fuel pump, i checked the relay and all the wiring NO POWER ANYWHERE... i don't know where to start, my brain is trying to shut off and i can't think...

im really getting tired of these many health problems... nothing getting better in my life, and nothing ending up how i wish no matter how hard i work on them... i just can't take this anymore, stuff like these make me just want to start taking drugs(medicine) again for the pain and insomnias, i don't want to start another depression i can't take that again...

little details PT.2

another little detail, this is brand spanking new...

Decided to make this ish a few days ago, i had a nissan emblem laying around and the VIN plate from the front clip that donated it's SR... decided to make a new shiny rear view mirror hanger =)

I clearcoated the vin plate a bit so people touching it wouldn't damage the print anymore...
Photobucket

looked around my home for something to hang it and put this thing toguether

Photobucket

added the nissan emblem and tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Photobucket

another of the tiny details i always like about my car...

brake upgrade PT.1

first upgrade of my brake system, "new" brake master cylinder...

240sx manual stock on left vs 300zx TT on right

PhotobucketPhotobucket

240sx 7/8 right vs 300zx 1 1/16 left

PhotobucketPhotobucket

it already had the fitting installed so i didn't have to look around for that crap... the only downside was my booster is a bit rusted from a old bad master cilinder, but after about 2 years with that master cilinder and didn't had that much rust i decided to just run it, i was going to go with a s13 jdm booster (bigger size and apparently bigger inside also) but it was rusted also, and i didn't had the mood to change it out to find out that the jdm booster is broke os something...

REVIEW:

i haven't driven on it, but the pedal was really stiff not mushy like it was in the old BMC, i like that feeling more, hope i like how it feels when i drive it...

another work on the celica...

AT LAST! something not nissan related...

about a month ago i had the chance to work on the celica again, another pain in the ass car to work on... i can never get the easy cars...

well installed a AEM uego courtesy of enjukuracing.com

AEM Gauge-type Wideband UEGO Controller

GREAT seller and as always great shipping...

the AEM gauge is great quality, i might just get one for myself soon... the owner ended up getting one cause after we tuned the CAMCON the stock ECU sometimes gets bitchy and correct what the camcon changes and the car sometimes during a run just LEANED out... so i recommend this i you have a camcon or a APEX'i always... better safe than sorry

install was easy:
1) drill a hole in the exhaust (the instructions state at least 18 inches away from the port in N/A and 32? from Force Inducted engines) weld on the bung and install the bosch wideband sensor...)
2) run all the wires to wherever you want the gauge to be, the sensor wires plug in to the sensor(duh! that's all to it...) and the power wires are simple... red to a 12v power and black to ground, the other wires are for specific things(READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!)

here's a few pics...

PhotobucketPhotobucket

REVIEW

This gauge is accurate as hell, it showed the same number we used on the AFR in the dyno... its lightweight and strong, 52mm so it fits almost anywhere and is bright during the day so no visibility problems and during the night as well... it reads AFR and LAMBDA, has hookups for AEM EMS and for recording the AFR with a datalog...
best AFR gauge i have tried out myself...

oh great, now i need a wheel...

well got this in the mail a few weeks back...

courtesy of carparthookup / sonic motor a hub and quick release

Photobucket

the hub (yeah RS type horn button im gonna dismantle it and figure out what to do...)

PhotobucketPhotobucket

the Quick release; EXACTLY the same thing as the NRG quickrelease! i highly recommend this if you are interested in one contact JXN at carparthookup for it, it comes in a bunch of colors, i asked for black but by mistake i got it red... i ended up liking the red and kept it =)

PhotobucketPhotobucket

some pics of them installed... + how to:

1)first of all you need to take apart your stock horn (in s14 you are going to need a torx bit)

2)just loosen of the 19mm nut in the middle of the wheel (i thought i had pics but i guess i don't so...) don't remove it completly leave a bit on, you will know why in the next steps

3) now wiggle the steering wheel back and forth to loosen it the reason for leaving the nut on issssssss cause when it comes loose and its not held on you don't want to be the one removing it... either A) the wheel hits you in the face or b) you fall back and hit yourself

i tried this for HOURSSSS, to no results, then i read about somebody just punching the wheel and getting it loose, i went caveman (i was angry...) and start punching the shit out of it and it came out after like 2 hits...

remove the nut and then the wheel...

4)install the HUB just put it on and then tighten the nut (i don't have the exact torque it cause i don't have the FSM open right now...); the hub you bought should have instructions about which side si up on it, but always check with your steering wheel cause it might not end up straight...

Photobucket

REMEMBER TO INSTALL THE BLACK COVER BEFOREEEEE THE QUICK RELEASE, i forgot and then had to take it off just to put this on... the big/ridged part goes on first and then the small part to hold it in place (just look at them and you will figure it out it's not like you are putting toguether a rocket)

5) install QR, just take the tiny screws and screw it to the HUB, not that hard...

Photobucket

here's the finished project
Photobucket

6) install the new wheel... (just perfect i have a hub and quick release yet i have no wheel... wujuuu really smart thinking brian...)

step back and amaze at your work as always...

PS. now about the wires i haven't really tried hooking up the horn BUT, in my s13 i just had one wire and ended up just hooking it up to the hub and then to the quick release wire... who knows if it works..

REVIEW

ok let's finish this up, the hub was a bit scratched up but who cares it goes on the inside you don't see it but the construction was great no problems there... the quick release is AWESOME, the same quality of NRG and other brands for less price and a great seller... it disengages easily but is STRONG and TIGHT, not play whatsoever... the kits come with everything for install in case you think you need to get something else... about the horn i don't know i don't plan on running it really, figuring this out for yourself ain't that hard so it might be a good chance to use that brain you barely use these days...

out with old in with the new

about a month ago i got a new intercooler but forgot to upload pics...

old one was a arospeed bar and plate intercooler size 27x9x3 2 1/4inch inlets... if you ever have to get this intercooler i recomend it for the decent price and quality... i bought like so i could finish installing a front mount and ended up liking it... it cooled down temp nicely don't have a airtemp gauge but just to explain... if you touch the hot side of the intercooler the tank was hot like HOT after a few runs... but the cold side tank you could stick your tongue to it with no problem... ive seen cheap intercoolers and they didn't cool down anything close to this and this one just cost a bit more than those ebay ones and is way better quality the welds were great and perfect no leaks...

PhotobucketPhotobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

exchange it with a brand new in box crappy ebay style no name brand TUBE AND FIN(didn't know it till i got home and checked it out cause it had the plastic end caps on when i got it...) intercooler from a local guy... i wanted to try a taller sized intercooler this one ended up being exactly the same sizes just more taller 27x12x2.75 with 3 inch inletsa bit thinner but the tall increase helps that out and well it should look nicer than the small one... hope this one cools just as good hoping the tube and fin is really as good as some companies try and sell them as... the best thing was i didn't had to change my intercooler pipes since it was the same lenght...

STRI xline

i installed the first gauge i ordered from worksconcept, STRI xline smoked lens/white led 52mm...

ordered only one cause well money issues and to check out the quality and to tell the truth i love it... can't wait to order the rest next month

the white led is really bright, but it has a dimming option you can hook up in case you want something less bright at night time (which i did not hook up...), the casing is aluminum and is really great i love it... way better than my old autometer gauges...

nice and new from the box

PhotobucketPhotobucket

stuff it came with, everything needed for install

Photobucket

it came with the stand so i decided to install it on the dash, i kinda like how it looks there... visible and even nice to the eyes when lit up... i actually think it is way to tilted to my side but i can look at it clearly which i think is more important than it looking nice on the dash...

PhotobucketPhotobucket

install was really easy if you have done past electrical stuff, remember it is a oil psi other gauges will vary and they come with instruction but in case you want to know if it is easy before ordering them... from my memory, red goes to power and black to ground, can't remember the other color but it goes to the dimming function (you could get it from your radio headunit...), the green wire goes to the sensor... the sensor need two wires one goes to the green wire on the gauge and the other goes to a chassis ground... i placed it on the intake manifolds screw where you ground the injectors...

can't wait to get my other needed gauges...

lets do a little update...

i know there are pics of the dash already installed but i decided to make a post about that separate from the rest...

here is everything in my living room getting cleaned up and shined out before installing back...

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Photobucket

my front seats waiting to get cleaned up a bit they were REALLY covered in dust...

Photobucket

i'll try and get pics of everything installed in nice quality pics from a borrowd camera...
